1) A furnace filter cleans air on the way into the system, before dust, pollen, and other airborne particles can be recirculated. To keep you furnace performing at its best, be sure to change the filter every month during the heating season.

2) A dirty baseboard heater dosen't keep a room as warm as a clean one. To clean a baseboard heater, turn off the power and use a tester to make sure the power is off. Remove the front panel and use the crevice tool on a cacuum cleaner to remove dust and dirt from the element.

3) Adjusting your ceiling fans to turn clockwise during the heating season will effectively push warm air down into the room.
